    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Quick and Easy: Ready in just 15 minutes, this s'mores dip recipe is perfect for busy nights or last-minute cravings.
    • Family Friendly: A fun, decadent treat everyone can enjoy, from kids to adults.
    • Bold Flavor: Spiced chocolate ganache gives this skillet S'mores dip a unique, irresistible twist.
    • Shareable Fun: This gooey marshmallow dip for graham crackers is perfect for parties, movie nights, or cozy nights in. These skillet sugar cookies would also be great to use as dippers!

    Ingredients

Ingredients to make baked s'mores dip in bowls.
    • Heavy Whipping Cream: Use full-fat heavy cream for the richest, creamiest ganache.
    • Chili Powder: Adds a subtle warmth that enhances the chocolate.
    • Bittersweet Chocolate: Opt for high-quality chocolate, around 60–70% cocoa, for a smooth, rich flavor. Chop it into small pieces so it melts evenly.
    • Marshmallows: Large marshmallows work best for a golden, gooey topping. If using mini marshmallows, layer more thickly to achieve the same effect.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • Nutty Twist: Sprinkle chopped toasted almonds, hazelnuts, or pecans over the ganache before broiling for extra crunch and flavor.
    • Flavored Chocolate: Mix a teaspoon of espresso powder or orange zest into the chocolate for a sophisticated flavor twist.
    • Peanut Butter Swirl: Drop small spoonfuls of peanut butter onto the chocolate ganache before broiling and swirl lightly for a rich, nutty twist. Similar to my chocolate peanut butter dip.
    • Mini Skillet Portions: Make individual servings in small ramekins or mini skillets for parties, perfect for portion control and presentation.

    How to Make S’mores Dip

Making this s'mores dip in the oven is easier than it looks with just a few simple steps. First, preheat your broiler to high and grab a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or oven-safe dish to make sure everything cooks evenly.

Cream in a skillet with the chili powder added.
    1. Step 1: Heat the Cream. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and bring it just to a boil on the stove. Stir in the chili powder so that the flavor blends smoothly.
Chocolate is added to the skillet of cream.
    1. Step 2: Add the Chocolate. Remove the skillet from heat, then stir in the chopped bittersweet chocolate until fully melted and silky.
Marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate ganache.
    1. Step 3: Top with Marshmallows. Arrange the marshmallows evenly over the chocolate and broil until they turn golden brown. Serve immediately with graham crackers and some skillet cinnamon crisps for dipping.

    Expert Tips

    • Use a Well-Seasoned Skillet: A well-seasoned cast-iron skillet prevents sticking and helps the chocolate and marshmallows cook evenly.
    • Don’t Overheat the Cream: Bring the heavy cream just to a boil; overheating can cause the chocolate to seize or separate.
    • Layer Marshmallows Evenly: Spread marshmallows in a single, even layer so they toast uniformly and don’t burn.
    • Serve Immediately: S’mores dip is best enjoyed warm and gooey; the chocolate will start to firm up as it cools.
    • Store Leftovers Properly: Cover any leftover dip and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave before serving.

    • Make it the star of a holiday dessert table or potluck, alongside treats like Nutella blondies and chocolate pecan pie.
    • Take it outdoors and enjoy a campfire s'mores dip at backyard BBQs or camping trips!

    S'mores Dip Recipe FAQs

How to make a s’mores dip over a campfire?

To make a s’mores dip over a campfire, use a small cast-iron skillet or heat-safe dish. Heat the chocolate and cream over low indirect heat, then top with marshmallows and let them toast slowly until golden and gooey.

How can I prevent my marshmallows from burning when making s'mores dip?

Keep a close eye on the broiler or campfire heat, and place marshmallows a few inches from the heat source. Rotating the skillet or dish occasionally helps it toast evenly.

Can I use milk chocolate instead of bittersweet chocolate to make this s'mores dip?

Yes, milk chocolate will make the dip sweeter and creamier. Adjust the chili or spices if you want to maintain a balanced flavor.
