Indulge in these rich, fudgy Nutella Blondies! A classic blondie swirled with chocolate-hazelnut goodness. Ready in under 30 minutes, this cast-iron dessert is as easy as it is irresistible.

The combination of buttery brown sugar batter and pockets of gooey Nutella creates a dessert that’s simple yet decadent. Using a cast-iron pan makes them perfectly golden on the outside while staying soft and fudgy inside. Every bite is delicious, and I can’t tell you how often they vanish the moment they come out of the oven.

If you’re a fan of rich, chocolatey desserts, you won’t want to miss my cola chocolate cherry cake and indulgent chocolate lava cakes.

    • Decadent Flavor: The buttery base, paired with gooey Nutella, makes every bite irresistible.
    • Family Friendly: Everyone will love these chocolate blondies, from kids to adults.
    • Cast-Iron Perfection: Bakes evenly with a golden outside and soft, fudgy inside for a dessert that looks as good as it tastes.

    Ingredients

Ingredients to make nutella blondies on the table with labels.
    • Nutella: The star ingredient for gooey, chocolate-hazelnut swirls. Make sure it’s at room temperature so it’s easy to swirl into the batter.
    • Light Brown Sugar: Adds moisture and a rich, caramel-like flavor. Be sure to firmly pack the sugar when measuring for the best texture.
    • Butter: Brings a tender, rich base to the blondies. Use unsalted so you can control the saltiness, and melt it gently.
    • All-Purpose Flour: Provides structure to the blondies. Measure correctly by spooning flour into the cup and level it off to avoid a dense texture.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • Peanut Butter Swirl: Add dollops of peanut butter alongside the Nutella for a rich, nutty twist that pairs perfectly with the chocolate-hazelnut flavor. If you love peanut butter, my chocolate peanut butter dip is a must-try!
    • Salted Caramel Twist: Drizzle a bit of salted caramel over the top before baking for a sweet-and-salty variation that elevates the dessert.
    • Extra Chocolatey: Swirl in semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks along with Nutella to make the blondies even more indulgent for chocolate lovers.
    • Add-Ins: Fold in chopped nuts or dried cherries to add texture and extra bursts of flavor.

    How to Make Nutella Blondies

These Nutella swirl blondies are quick, easy, and always a hit. Start by preheating the oven to 350°F and greasing a 9″ cast-iron wedge pan or skillet with nonstick spray so your blondies come out of the pan easily.

Wet ingredients in a glass mixing bowl.

Step 1: Mix the Wet Ingredients. Whisk together the light brown sugar, melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Dry ingredients mixed in a bowl.

Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

Step 3: Blend the Batter. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined and a smooth batter forms.

Batter spooned into a cast iron cake mold with nutella added to each.

Step 4: Add the Nutella. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan, then drop teaspoons of Nutella on top.

Nutella swirled into the blondie batter.

Step 5: Swirl It. Use a toothpick to swirl the Nutella gently into the batter.

Step 6: Bake and Cool. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly before slicing, then serve warm for a sweet family treat, perfect after enjoying a hearty meal like my easy beef stroganoff.

    Expert Tips

    • Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure the egg and butter are at room temperature to help the batter mix smoothly and prevent lumps.
    • Don’t Overmix: Stir the batter until just combined, as overmixing can make the blondies tough instead of soft and fudgy.
    • Swirl, Don’t Mix: Drop the Nutella in spoonfuls and swirl gently with a toothpick. Swirling too much can cause the Nutella to sink or blend completely, losing that fun swirl effect.
    • Storage: Store leftover blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat briefly for a warm, gooey treat.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Enjoy Nutella blondies warm as a dessert after a weeknight dinner, like alongside my chicken pot pie or bacon cheeseburger casserole.
    • Pair them with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate for a cozy afternoon snack with friends, and serve them alongside my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
    • Bring these Nutella treats to parties or potlucks, cut into small squares, where they’re easy to share and always disappear fast.

    Nutella Blondies Recipe FAQs

Can I make Nutella Blondies ahead of time?

You can mix the batter and keep it in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking. Just let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before baking so it bakes evenly.

How do I keep Nutella Blondies soft and fudgy?

Avoid overbaking and check with a toothpick at the 25-minute mark. The center should be almost set when the blondies are ready.

Can I use a different pan instead of a cast-iron skillet?

A 9-inch metal or glass baking pan works fine, though baking times may vary slightly; start checking a couple of minutes earlier.
