Brownie mix — any mix will do. We're a fan of Pillsbury so that's what we used.
Peanut butter cups — Reese's peanut butter cups were the only brand we considered and opted for the mini's.
Baking needs — Boxed brownie mix require eggs, water, and oil. Consult your specific box for the precise quantities, as they all vary.

For a more intensely delicious brownie experience, you could add some of the following with the mini peanut butter cups:

How to make peanut butter brownies
Step 1 — Preheat an oven to 350°F. Halve the mini peanut butter cups. Spray the cast iron skillet with cooking spray. Make the brownie batter per package directions.
Step 2 — Pour enough brownie batter into the prepared skillet to cover the bottom.
Step 3 — Press the candy halves into the brownie batter, fitting in as many as you can in any desired array.
Step 4 — Pour the remaining brownie batter over the peanut butter cups. Bake according to the time indicated on the package.
Step 5 — When done, press several whole mini peanut butter cups into the still warm brownies.
