Equipment

  • 12-inch cast iron skillet

Ingredients

  • 30 oz chili (two-15 oz cans or homemade)
  • 8 all-beef hot dogs sliced
  • ¼ cup green onions chopped; (3 green onions)
  • 6 oz cheddar cheese shredded; (aproximately 3 cups)
  • 16.3 oz canned biscuits cubed; (we used Grands)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • tsp granulated garlic (garlic powder works too, but use a bit more)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 375°F
  • Add the chili, sliced hot dogs, and green onions to the cast iron skillet; stir to combine.
  • Cover the chili mixture with the grated cheese.
  • Cut and cube each biscuit (see notes) and add them to a medium-size bowl.
  • Toss the biscuit cubes with the melted butter, garlic, and parsley.
  • Scatter the biscuits over the cheese, taking care to fill in any large holes/gaps, unless so desired.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and no longer doughy in the center.
  • Once cooked, remove from oven and allow to rest for at least minutes before serving.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

The size of the biscuits is a personal choice. We cut each biscuit into three rows then those rows into four cubes.
