Cast Iron Garlic Bread

Equipment

  • 12" Cast Iron Skillet or Cast iron griddle or baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread or French; sliced
  • 1 cup butter softened; 2 sticks
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp granulated garlic
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dried parsley

Instructions

  • Slice the bread if it's not pre-sliced to about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Add one stick of butter to a small bowl; smash it with a fork.
  • Mix in the Parmesan cheese, granulated garlic, and parsley to the butter until well combined.
  • Spread the garlic butter on each slice of bread.
  • Heat the cast iron on medium heat and add a couple of tablespoons of the remaining stick of butter to melt.
  • Place as many slices of bread, buttered side up, as can comfortably fit in the cast iron; 1-2 minutes
  • Once golden brown, flip to buttered side down and toast; 1-2 minutes.
  • Repeat until all the slices of bread have been toasted, adding more of the reserved butter to the skillet as needed.
